1. Introduction

At Dcouple, Inc ("we," "our," or "us"), we are committed to protecting your privacy and personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use Doozy ("Service").

By using the Service, you consent to the data practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with our practices, please do not use the Service.

2. Information We Collect

Information You Provide:

  • Account information (email address, name, profile photo)
  • Phone number (when provided for SMS notifications)
  • Voice recordings and audio transcriptions
  • Text notes, task descriptions, and chat messages
  • Files and documents you upload
  • Connected third-party account credentials (stored encrypted)
  • Payment information (processed by Stripe)
  • Feedback, support requests, and communications with us

Automatically Collected Information:

  • Device information (device type, operating system, browser)
  • Usage analytics (features used, actions taken)
  • Session data and user preferences
  • Log data and error reports
  • IP address and approximate location

3. SMS/Text Message Communications

Phone Number Collection: If you choose to receive SMS notifications, we collect your phone number during account setup or through your notification settings. Providing your phone number for SMS is optional.

How We Use Your Phone Number: We use your phone number solely to send you SMS notifications about:

  • Task reminders and updates
  • AI agent completion notifications
  • Account security alerts
  • Important service announcements

Message Frequency: Message frequency varies based on your activity and notification preferences. You control which notifications you receive through your account settings.

SMS Service Provider: We use Twilio to deliver SMS messages. When you provide your phone number, it is shared with Twilio solely for the purpose of delivering messages. Twilio's privacy policy governs their handling of your data.

Data Storage: Your phone number is stored securely in our database using the same encryption and security measures described in Section 9 (Data Security). We retain your phone number as long as your account is active or until you remove it.

Opting Out: You can opt out of SMS notifications at any time by:

  • Replying STOP to any message we send
  • Updating your notification preferences in account settings
  • Contacting us at support@dcouple.ai

After opting out, you will receive a confirmation message and no further SMS messages unless you re-enable notifications.

4. How We Use Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
  • Process voice recordings and generate transcriptions
  • Execute AI-powered tasks and automations on your behalf
  • Connect and interact with third-party integrations
  • Process payments and manage subscriptions
  • Send transactional emails and service notifications

  • Analyze usage patterns to improve the Service
  • Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security threats

5. AI and Model Training

Service Improvement: We may use aggregated, anonymized data to improve our AI models and services. This data cannot be used to identify you personally.

Your Personal Data: Your personal voice recordings, notes, and files are NOT used to train external AI models without your explicit consent. We use your content solely to provide the Service to you.

Third-Party AI Services: To provide AI features, we may send your content to third-party AI providers for processing. These providers are bound by their own privacy policies and data processing agreements.

6. Third-Party Services

The Service uses third-party providers to deliver certain features:

  • Cloud Infrastructure - Authentication, storage, and hosting
  • Speech-to-Text - Audio transcription services
  • AI Processing - Language models for task automation and assistance
  • Integrations - Workflow automation connecting to 800+ third-party apps
  • Analytics - Privacy-focused product analytics
  • Payments - Payment processing (we do not store your payment card details)
  • Error Monitoring - Service reliability and error tracking

When you connect to third-party applications through Doozy, those services have their own privacy policies that govern how they handle your data. We encourage you to review those policies.

7. Data Sharing

We may share your information in the following circumstances:

  • With your consent: When you authorize integrations or sharing
  • Service providers: Third-party vendors who help us operate the Service
  • Legal requirements: When required by law, subpoena, or legal process
  • Safety and security: To protect our rights, property, or the safety of users
  • Business transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets

We do NOT sell or rent your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.

8. Data Retention

We retain your personal data only as long as necessary to provide the Service and fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.

  • Account data: Retained while your account is active
  • Voice recordings: Stored until you delete them or close your account
  • Usage data: Generally retained for up to 2 years
  • Legal/compliance: Some data may be retained longer to comply with legal obligations

You can delete your content at any time through the Service. Account deletion requests are processed within 30 days.

9. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your personal information. Our infrastructure is hosted on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), which maintains industry-standard security certifications and practices.

All data transmitted to and from our Service is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS. We use secure authentication methods and limit access to personal data to authorized personnel only.

While we strive to protect your information, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

In the event of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you as required by applicable law.

10. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access: Request a copy of your personal data
  • Rectification: Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
  • Portability: Request a machine-readable copy of your data
  • Restriction: Request limitation of processing

  • Withdraw consent: Withdraw previously given consent

California Residents (CCPA): You have the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion, and opt out of the sale of your data (we do not sell personal data).

EU/EEA Residents (GDPR): You have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation. Our legal basis for processing includes contract performance, legitimate interests, and consent.

11. Cookies & Tracking

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to:

  • Essential cookies: Required for the Service to function (authentication, preferences)
  • Analytics cookies: Help us understand how you use the Service (PostHog)

We use PostHog for privacy-focused analytics. PostHog is configured to respect user privacy and does not sell data to third parties.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling certain cookies may affect the functionality of the Service.

Do Not Track: Some browsers have a "Do Not Track" feature that signals to websites that you do not want to be tracked. Our Service does not currently respond to Do Not Track signals. However, you can opt out of analytics tracking by adjusting your browser settings or using browser extensions that block tracking scripts.

12. Children's Privacy

The Service is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at privacy@dcouple.ai. We will take steps to delete such information.

13. International Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence. These countries may have different data protection laws.

When we transfer data internationally, we implement appropriate safeguards, such as Standard Contractual Clauses, to protect your information.

By using the Service, you consent to the transfer of your information to the United States and other countries where we operate.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
